Covedale Elementary is a proud PreK–6 neighborhood school rooted in a Tradition of Excellence in academics, leadership, and community. We are committed to helping every child achieve high levels of academic success while developing the confidence and character to thrive in a changing world.

As a Leader in Me school, we believe every student has genius. Through the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, students learn to set goals, take responsibility, work collaboratively, and find their unique voice — building leadership skills that support both academic growth and personal development.

At Covedale, rigorous academics are at the heart of what we do. Our dedicated teachers hold high expectations and work closely with families to ensure students are challenged, supported, and inspired to meet their full potential. We take pride in our strong literacy and math programs, as well as hands-on learning experiences that deepen understanding across all subject areas.

We are deeply connected to our West Side community. With support from our PTA, the Covedale Foundation, and ABC (Activities Beyond the Classroom), students benefit from enriched learning experiences, including field trips, clubs, arts programs, and more. Our 4th–6th grade theater program brings Broadway Jr. performances to life, showcasing student talent and teamwork.

Through events like 513 Day, our students become active learners and leaders in their community — exploring Cincinnati’s history and culture, and engaging in service projects that make a meaningful impact.

Community Learning Centers

For our schools to transform, our communities must be revitalized. For our communities to revitalize, our schools must be transformed. They are dependent on each other and as a Community Learning Center.

What is a Community Learning Center (CLC)?

Schools and the communities they serve are closely linked. Seldom does one succeed without the success of the other. That's why our CLCs support student achievement, enrich and revitalize communities, and maximize the community's return on their financial investment.

We are very proud to be a CLC and a neighborhood anchor. We strive to go beyond academics to focus on the whole child by serving as a hub for community services that are available to all students, their families and the entire community. We are able to offer a variety of services thanks to the collaboration and support of our many partners and the committed community of Covedale.

Local School Decision-Making Committee (LSDMC)

School Visits and Tours

We welcome visits from parents and guardians as well as prospective families who would like a tour. To protect student safety, all visitors must register in the office before going to the classroom. Parents/guardians who would like a conference with their child's teacher must schedule an appointment with the teacher.
