Attendance Policies

As a reminder, our hours are:

School Hours: 7:40 a.m. - 2:10 p.m.
Office Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.

Any student arriving after 7:40 AM must enter through the front office with a guardian to sign the student in. Students will then receive a tardy slip before proceeding to class.

Absence Procedures

State law permits absence to be excused for personal injury and illness or death in the family. When a child is absent, parents should call the school before 7:00 AM. Unexcused absence from school results in failing grades for work not completed.

If a message was not left on the voicemail, students returning from an absence must bring a note from parents giving the date and reason for absence. After 5 unexcused days, a doctor’s note is required.

Bus Safety

Student behavior that distracts bus drivers is a hazard to the vehicle's safe operation, and jeopardizes the safety and welfare of all passengers. Misbehavior while on a yellow school bus or a Metro bus can result in disciplinary action for the student or the suspension of transportation service for the student.

Dismissal

Dismissal will begin promptly at 2:10 PM.
All students must clear the building immediately after dismissal unless under the direct supervision of an adult.
ALL students must be picked up upon dismissal, unless participating in an after-school activity. Only the child participating in the after-school activity may stay.
Any student remaining at school after 2:25 PM will be escorted to the office, and the parent/guardian will be contacted. The parent/guardian must sign out the student in the office upon arrival.
